S.BO MULTI: TAPA-compliant dry cargo box for varying transport requirements

With the S.BO MULTI, Schmitz Cargobull has expanded its dry freight portfolio to include a semi-trailer capable of handling a wide variety of transport tasks with a single vehicle. Although it was only unveiled at the start of 2026, there are already some new developments to report: For instance, the optional aluminium roller shutter is now anodised, making it particularly robust and corrosion resistant. In addition, a security package is available that complies with TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) requirements.

In view of rising theft figures for high-value goods in transit, the issue of security is becoming increasingly important. Consequently, both the S.BO MULTI and the S.BO EXPRESS are now available in TAPA TSR1-compliant versions and come ex-works fitted with coordinated security components and portal functions. These include, amongst other things, an audible alarm system and a door locking system combined with door contact sensors, which secures access at the rear. Additional functions in the TrailerConnect® telematics portal, such as tamper and TAPA modes, enable continuous monitoring. Schmitz Cargobull is the first supplier to offer the TAPA security package for a dry freight semi-trailer with a roller door.
