“Everyone already knows that we’re building the Smart Trailer. And it makes sense that we should also build the Smart Trailer in a Smart Factory,” says Andreas Schmitz, summing up the latest step in the transformation of production. This state-of-the-art manufacturing environment forms the basis for the start of series production of the new S.KO COOL, which is positioned as the latest generation in the refrigerated vehicle segment and is making its debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026.

On the new assembly line at the Vreden plant, automated production processes ensure the highest levels of precision and reliability. Digital process control further improves product quality and minimises error rates. At the same time, the manufacture of refrigerated bodies is consistently geared towards achieving an optimised k-value and meets the strictest quality standards as well as certifications in accordance with national and international requirements.

Energy-efficient processes, the targeted reduction of CO₂ emissions and the responsible use of resources are just as firmly embedded in the manufacturing strategy as a clear commitment to social responsibility and strong regional value creation. At the heart of the Smart Factory lies the consistent use of Industry 4.0 technologies: the application of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics enables intelligent, connected manufacturing.
