S.CU mt-DualEvap: a clever solution for multi-temperature transport with a longitudinal partition
For urban food and distribution transport, Schmitz Cargobull offers the S.CU mt-DualEvap, a cost-effective solution for longitudinally divided multi-compartment operation. Two temperature zones can be created lengthways within the trailer – without the need for an additional ceiling evaporator, thereby maintaining the full interior height.
The S.CU dc90 mt-DualEvap supports longitudinal partitions with predefined transverse partitioning options ranging from 830mm to 1,250mm, thereby enabling the trailer to be precisely adapted to different routes and loads. Thanks to the rear cross partition, the sizes of the temperature-controlled compartments can be adjusted to suit the cargo, which also allows for the cost-effective return of empty containers.
Combined with Schmitz Cargobull’s optimal airflow management, this means greater operational flexibility for the user and better utilisation of the trailer’s capacity. At the same time, the temperature remains stable even when the doors are opened frequently.

A perfectly coordinated complete system
In general, Schmitz Cargobull offers a perfectly coordinated end-to-end system for all types of temperature-controlled transport, combining all the relevant components. From the S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailer, through the S.CU transport refrigeration units and the TrailerConnect® telematics system, and tailor-made service packages for trailers and transport refrigeration units.
With a market share of around 50 per cent, Schmitz Cargobull has been one of the leading manufacturers in the refrigerated semi-trailer segment in Europe for many years. Since the launch of the first S.CU transport refrigeration unit in 2012, Schmitz Cargobull has produced over 40,000 units; today, around one in four S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailers is delivered fitted with an S.CU.
The current, modular S.CU system also includes fully electric transport refrigeration units, which are used in conjunction with the all-electric S.KOe COOL refrigerated box. “Our focus is always on ensuring full transparency throughout the entire cold chain. And we achieve this by integrating the refrigerated body, telematics, the transport refrigeration unit and, of course, our full-service offerings,” emphasises Jonathan Steckel, Head of Product Management at Cargobull Cool.
