S.BO PACE+: cost-effective parcel logistics using the new FERROSTRUKT® lightweight construction technology

With the S.BO PACE+ dry freight box, Schmitz Cargobull is introducing the successor to the S.BO PACE semi-trailer box. The new vehicle, which is scheduled for market launch in January 2027, has been specifically developed to meet requirements where high turnover rates, tight time slots and, consequently, maximum vehicle availability are crucial.

The central element of the S.BO PACE+ and the core of its structure is the FERROSTRUKT® sidewall technology. It combines a steel skin with a honeycomb core, thereby creating a structure that combines high impact and puncture resistance with low weight. This means the S.BO PACE+ is specifically designed to withstand the typical stresses encountered in parcel logistics.

In the event of damage, the individual profiled panels on the side walls can be replaced quickly and selectively. The roof, which is also constructed using profiled panels, requires no additional supporting components, thereby reducing the number of components and simplifying repairs. The structure is designed for a long service life, is recyclable and is certified to DIN EN 12642 Code XL (payload 27,000kg). Aluminium doors or, optionally, an aluminium roller shutter are available for the rear.

Practical load securing for fast handling processes

With a view to high throughput rates and minimal operational effort, load securing on the S.BO PACE+ has been deliberately kept simple: surface-mounted load-securing rails enable the functional and flexible securing of different consignments.

The S.BO PACE+ is aimed not only at parcel logistics companies but also at operators of standardised dry freight services, where efficiency, ease of use and cost transparency are key priorities. By deliberately avoiding bespoke solutions and focusing on robust, cost-effective core functions, the vehicle is designed to ensure high operational readiness and predictable running costs.
